GO Transit vaxx bus making stop at Union Station

Metrolinx is supporting COVID-19 vaccination efforts by bringing mobile clinic to Union Station.

Sep 23, 2021

GO-VAXX, one of three COVID-19 vaccine buses, will be parked in front of Union Station tomorrow (Sept. 24), as part of the push to get every eligible person vaccinated.

The GO bus, in the familiar bright green colour, is clearly branded so anyone walking by or heading into Union Station can’t miss it.

The wheelchair accessible mobile vaccine clinic will be positioned on Front Street, just east of York Street, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6p.m.

Anyone born in 2009, or earlier, is eligible to be vaccinated and no appointment is needed – just a health card or government-issued ID is required, along with a willingness to get protected and protect the community from the virus.

Since early August, the GO-VAXX buses – initially two buses were outfitted but the demand has been so high, a third GO bus was converted – have been travelling around the region and successfully putting close to 6,000 jabs in arms. More than 50 per cent of those shots have been first doses – many saying it was the convenience that convinced them.

Trained medical staff will be available on site to answer any questions and discuss any concerns.

Remember to wear a mask that covers the nose, mouth and chin and do not visit the GO-VAXX bus if experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.

The GO Transit bus team has been working with the Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Transportation, as well as 11 public health units on the GO-VAXX initiative. You can find the schedule and further information here.

The mobile clinic appearance at Union Station is part of the Rail Safety Week initiatives.
