Oct 4, 2024
Union Station has undergone noticeable transformations over the past decade, so if you haven’t visited for some time, it can be easy to get turned around. One notable shift took place nearly four years ago when the Union Station Bus Terminal (USBT) was relocated.
If you’re looking to make your way there soon, keep reading, or watch the play-by-play video below for all the information you need to find it, and get to your GO Bus, Megabus or Ontario Northland bus on time.
As part of the Union Station Enhancement Project, the city got its newest transit hub when the USBT reopened in a prime location in the heart of downtown Toronto. The shiny, new state-of-the-art facility opened in December 2020, just down the street from the previous bus terminal.
Today the popular bus hub sits on the north-east corner of Bay Street and Lake Shore Boulevard, adjoined with CIBC SQUARE development (81 Bay Street).
How to get to the bus terminal from Union Station
Upon your arrival at Union Station, once you safely disembark your GO or UP Express train, make your way down the stairs to the newly revitalized Bay Concourse. From there, locate thea set of blue doors located just to the right of the Tim Hortons, and walk on through.
Walk towards Scotiabank Arena and make a left at the end of the corridor into the Scotiabank Galleria.
From there, you have two options:
- You can get to the bus terminal from outside by exiting the building here and turning right to head south along Bay Street. Once you reach Lake Shore Blvd., cross Bay Street to your left, and locate the south facing Lake Shore entrance doors to the USBT. (Your journey ends here.)
- If you prefer to do the walk indoors, simply make your way up the escalator from the Scotiabank Galleria. (Continue reading for more directions.)
Walk through the pedestrian bridge and continue to the second level of the USBT.
Continue walking and follow signs to go through another set of doors and into the Union Station Bus Terminal. You have arrived!
Customers are invited to connect to the station’s Wi-Fi inside the climate-controlled waiting area. The dynamic digital signage will be updated 10 minutes before boarding to provide further instruction on the appropriate zone and gate location. Gates will only open once customers are allowed to board and de-board buses.
