After two years of virtual Pride festivities, the Metrolinx team was finally able to celebrate in person again at this year’s parade.

The 2022 Pride Parade took place yesterday (June 26) in downtown Toronto. Over 50 Metrolinx employees – including the transit agency’s Pride 365 committee and Phil Verster, President and CEO of Metrolinx – gathered together to celebrate Pride.

The team was joined by representatives from Alstom and Infrastructure Ontario, two of Metrolinx’s partners – and the GO Bear, who debuted a new Pride-themed costume.

The day was all about celebrating inclusion and diversity, which are important values for the transit agency and its employees.

Wearing their colourful “Ride with Pride” shirts, the Metrolinx team marched alongside the Pride-themed GO Bus – which was one of the largest vehicles in the parade. The bus was wrapped earlier this month, and will be in service throughout the year.

In accordance with Pride Toronto’s goal of environmental sustainability, the Pride GO Bus is completely electric.
