Pillars of the community - Supporting the Hurontario LRT
In the latest images, we take a look at concrete work being done on Highway 407.

Talk about carrying your weight while on the job.
Work continues along Hurontario Street for the Hurontario Light Rail Transit (LRT) project. And that recently included concrete pillars being installed at Hurontario Street and Highway 407, in Mississauga.
This work is being done to widen the underpass and create a new center and independent deck that will carry the new LRT guideway. The vehicles will travel along Hurontario Street, above the existing highway.

That part of the job was recently completed and crews are currently in the process of setting up the area for the next stage of work. The 407 structures work is expected to be completed by the winter of 2022.

Once completed, the Hurontario LRT will move people smoothly across Mississauga and Brampton on an 18-kilometre route. To get that done, a lot of heavy lifting and support is required.
