October has arrived, which means spooky season is in full effect. For those looking to get into the Halloween spirit, check out our guide to thrilling events and destinations around the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA), many of which offer discounts for PRESTO cardholders!

Halloween Nights of Lights and Pumpkinville

Back for its fifth year is an immersive walkthrough experience located at CF Sherway Gardens, Etobicoke. Open until Oct. 31, this year’s experience features new installations with more than 1.5 million lights synchronized to your favourite Halloween tunes. This event features carnival rides, a scavenger hunt, and pumpkin themed foods. Tickets can be purchased online, and PRESTO cardholders can save 20 per cent off admission on Thursdays and Sundays by using code PRESTO20 at checkout and 15 per cent off on Fridays and Saturdays using code PRESTO15.

While you’re there, venture over to Pumpkinville, a fun fair featuring pumpkin sculptures, plenty of photo opportunities and pumpkin houses and villages all made with over 25,000 real pumpkins. Admission into Pumpkinville is free with your purchase of Halloween Nights of Lights tickets or can be purchased as a standalone ticket.

Halloween Haunt

You don’t want to miss the country’s largest Halloween event returning to Canada’s Wonderland this year. Halloween Haunt transforms the theme park into a scream park with seven terrifying scare zones, hundreds of monsters, thrilling night rides, live entertainment and new mazes.

Check out sinister live shows like Vampire Disco and Inferno and delicious treats like Dirt and Worms Funnel Cake and Witches Poutine. Halloween Haunt is happening on select dates and times from now until Nov. 2, and tickets can be purchased online ahead of time.

Where Dark Things Dwell

Embrace spooky season and compete with up to 15 teams to reverse the curse at Where Dark Things Dwell, Toronto’s largest outdoor escape room. Located at Black Creek Pioneer Village, Toronto, it’s a frightening experience filled with games, puzzles and actors creating an immersive performance designed for ages 12 and up.

Experience this outdoor activity every Wednesday to Sunday from now until Nov. 10. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time, and PRESTO cardholders can use code PRESTODARK at checkout and save 15 per cent off public tickets. The offer ends Nov. 9.

The Haunted Walk

Attend a chilling and thrilling journey through Toronto focusing on the city’s ghost stories and dark history. Learn all about haunted theatres, unsolved mysteries and spooky historic buildings from now until Nov. 30.

The Haunted Walk departs outside the courtyard in front of the Hockey Hall of Fame. Tickets can be bought in advance and PRESTO cardholders can use code PRESTOPERKS15 when booking and save 15 per cent off regular admission. Please be prepared to show your PRESTO card upon check-in for your tour.
