It’s the kind of red light you like to see.
Construction crews recently installed the final signal that will control the movements of trains along the Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit (LRT) line.
The light in the photo might be red, but it’s a major milestone for the 19-km transit route that is quickly moving towards completion. And they work the same way as traffic lights on the road, green means go, and red means stop.
The progress doesn’t stop there.
A little further down the line, crews are putting the finishing touches on some important features for future transit customers.
Interactive kiosks are being installed at Keelesdale Station, which will help people navigate the station and the surrounding area.
At Kennedy Station, a more familiar piece of technology is being installed. PRESTO fare gates.
