The Finch West LRT is being built - and Metrolinx News has new photos from the behind the scenes.

Deep below Toronto’s Finch Avenue West, a new transit line is being built.

You might not see it all, but there’s important work happening at the intersection of Keele Street and Finch Avenue.

Several metres down, crews are working on the Finch West light rail transit (LRT) stop at Keele.

Here are a few photos showing the work most people don’t have access to.

A little further west, near the intersection of Jane Street and Finch Avenue – the Maintenance and Storage Facility (MSF) for the Finch West LRT project is home to the fleet of trains that will run along Finch Avenue.

Here’s a shot of the building that will serve as the headquarters for the light rail line.

So, the next time you travel along Finch Avenue West, keep in mind sometimes it’s the work you don’t see that’s the most impressive.
