Finch West LRT sees excavation work done at Finch West Station

Progress continues to be made along the important rapid transit system.

Feb 5, 2021

The latest photos from Toronto’s Finch Avenue West light rail transit route go high and dig down low.

While we always like the perspective of drone images, one of the new photographs is of excavation work for the Finch West Station, on the south east corner of Keele and Finch. It gives you a good idea of how even digging earth away is a complicated process.

And then there’s new rail installed inside the Maintenance and Storage Facility (MSF) site, as well as progress on the interior and exterior of the main building.

The 10,000 sq. foot MSF – with capacity for 26 light rail vehicles – will also be the place the vehicles are inspected and worked on. From the main structure, tracks will run both east and west. It includes a main shop, vehicle wash facility, material storage building, administrative office and 122 parking spots.

There are also a number of photos of work from above, including at Finch Ave. and Jane St., as well as near Humber College.
