How to get to the Eaton Centre from Union Station with the PATH
When it’s raining or snowing, you can still get to the Eaton Centre without stepping outside!
Nov 14, 2024
Did you know the PATH is the world’s largest underground shopping complex in the world, according to the Guinness book of World Records? It spans more than 30 kilometres, connecting pedestrians to some of downtown Toronto’s most notable areas, including the country’s busiest transit hub: Union Station.
The PATH can get travelers to hotels, tourist attractions, restaurants, retailers, six TTC subway stations, two future Ontario Line stations and shopping malls like the Eaton Centre. It’s a popular artery for navigating the city on foot – especially as colder weather begins to set in or when it’s raining outside – but the PATH can also be a little labyrinthian to navigate.
In this edition of our wayfinding series, we’ll show you how to get from Union Station to the Eaton Centre, without taking a step outdoors.
How to get to the Eaton Centre using the PATH
From Union Station’s subway entrance, enter the PATH, heading towards Brookfield Place and go through the doors by keeping left.
As you approach the entrance to TD Tower, keep left at the big TD logo on the wall.
Walk forward and turn right at the end of this hallway, continuing straight until you reach the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Turn left at the Hockey Hall of Fame and follow signs for Commerce Court.
Follow the hallway until you see a large compass on the floor. You’ll want to head in the general direction of the N.
Follow the hallway past the display cabinets and go through the doorway for Scotia Plaza.
Go up the stairs or take the accessible ramp and keep right at the pillars, following signs to the Financial District.
Go forward, keeping left of the escalators and head through the doors with the Adelaide Street West/Bay Adelaide Centre sign.
Once through the doors, keep right, either down the stairs or ramp, following the Downtown Yonge PATH sign.
Turn left, following the wall sign pointing to Bay Adelaide East/Tower Lobby and follow to the end of the hall.
Turn right at the end of the hall and continue through the doors for Hudson's Bay.
Go up the stairs or escalator and walk to the end of the hallway. You should be inside Hudson’s Bay at this point.
At the end of the hallway, look for a PATH sign on the wall pointing to CF Toronto Eaton Centre and turn right, following its direction.
Turn left at the Queen Station subway entrance, with signs pointing to Downtown Yonge above the doorway.
Keep going straight through the doors and you’ve made it to the Eaton Centre without stepping a foot outdoors!
To go from the Eaton Centre to Union Station, simply follow the directions in reverse order.
