More GO Train service: What Brampton customers need to know

How Kitchener Line riders can benefit from the most substantial GO service increase since 2013.

Apr 19, 2024

GO Train customers from Brampton, we’ve got some good news for you.

That’s because Metrolinx just announced the largest GO Train service increase in years.

Part of that announcement is more GO Train service along the Kitchener Line between Bramalea GO and Union Station.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Starting April 28, customers can now enjoy 30-minute service between Bramalea and Union Station during the midday and evenings

  • That’s 21 additional trips each day between these stations.

Be sure to check the latest schedules on the GO Transit website as some departure times on the Kitchener Line might have changed.

This is all part of our efforts to bring our customers more flexibility and choice when traveling across the region.

Saving money with transit

Speaking of choice, there’s lots of easy ways to pay for your ride when you jump on the GO – including simply tapping your debit or credit card.

Seniors and students benefit from significant discounts when paying with their PRESTO card.

And did we mention that kids 12 and under ride for free on GO Transit? And for the adults in the group, you can transfer from GO to TTC  for free thanks to Ontario’s One Fare Program

The recently launched program means transit riders only pay once when traveling between TTC and GO Transit, Brampton Transit, Durham Region Transit, MiWay and York Region Transit.

Simply tap with a PRESTO card, credit or debit, or PRESTO in Google Wallet and Ontario’s One Fare Program savings will automatically be applied.

More affordable transit makes it easier to leave your car at home when commuting to and from work, going to school, heading to a sporting event or concert, or visiting family and friends.

That’s why the province, Metrolinx and local transit partners are working together to connect communities across the region.
