It’s not often you see livestock on the GO Train. If you do, it can only mean one thing: it’s time for the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.
Kay the Sheep knew the easiest way to travel into the city was catching a ride from Scarborough GO into Union Station this morning (Nov. 2), in anticipation of the Royal’s 101st year.
The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair takes place Nov. 3 - 12 at Exhibition Place in Toronto, just steps from the conveniently located Exhibition GO Station. It remains the largest indoor agricultural and equestrian event in the world. The Royal Horse Show alone attracting athletes from across the world.
There are agricultural competitions (everything from jams to giant vegetables), live music, butter sculptures, artisan vendors, square dancing and (as always) lots of food. There’s even a rodeo.
GO Transit has once again partnered with the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, allowing attendees to purchase GO combo tickets covering both transit fare and the event- which attracts some 300,000 people each year.
- Adult (age 18–64) single day fair admission + GO Transit fare: $38
