December GO Train service adjustments and track closures
What you need to know when planning weekend travel on the Lakeshore West and Stouffville lines.
Nov 29, 2024
To ensure safe and reliable operations while advancing important construction work along the rail corridor, we’ll be making some changes to service along the Lakeshore West and Stouffville lines starting the weekend of Dec. 7.
Here’s everything you need to know when making travel plans using the GO network next month.

Stouffville line
On Dec. 7-8 and Dec. 14-15, there will be no weekend train service on the Stouffville line. During this time, we will be performing track construction and maintenance along the corridor as well as making key infrastructure updates for the Stouffville GO Expansion project.
Helping to transform the Stouffville line into an all-day, rapid transit network, this work can only be completed while trains are not running, and for this reason, rail service will be replaced by GO bus Route 71.
There will be some additional service changes:
- On Friday, Dec. 6 and 13, the 10:12 p.m. northbound rail trip from Union Station will be extended to make additional stops at Stouffville GO Station and Old Elm GO Station. Customers wishing to continue their journey to Uxbridge can connect to the 70D GO bus at Mount Joy GO Station.
- The last train trip departing Union Station on Dec. 6 and 13 at 12:12 a.m. will be replaced by bus 71C.
- Buses will not be stopping at Kennedy, Agincourt and Milliken GO stations.
During these two weekends, not all replacement buses will service each station. Customers are encouraged to check updated schedules for departure and connection times.
