Schedule changes on Lakeshore East & Stouffville Lines in November
Weekend construction is necessary for important track and signal work.
Nov 7, 2022
As Metrolinx continues to expand and improve the region’s transit network, weekend construction is needed to get the job done.
To accommodate this work, on the weekends of Nov. 12 and 13 as well as Nov. 26 and 27, GO Train service on the Lakeshore East Line will be reduced to hourly and there will be no train service on the Stouffville Line.
November 12 and 13
This coming weekend’s work (Nov 12 – 13) will see track work at Kennedy GO Station, as well as upgrades and repairs to a number of crossings along the line. Crews will also upgrade signals at Scarborough GO Station. Signal maintenance is vitally important for keeping trains running on time.
November 26 and 27
On the weekend of Nov. 26 – 27, crews will be doing track maintenance related to the Ontario Line subway project.
The work is happening in an area where the Ontario Line will run adjacent to the Lakeshore East and Stouffville Line GO tracks, impacting service on both lines on Nov. 26 and 27.
Once completed, the Ontario Line will add 15.6 km to Toronto’s subway network. Lakeshore East and Stouffville Line GO passengers will have an easy transfer point in the future at a new East Harbour Station, providing a shorter trip to and from the Financial District.
Important customer information
For both weekends (Nov 12-13 and Nov 26-27) service on the Lakeshore East will be reduced to hourly and there will be no service on Stouffville.
Weekend work schedules are planned long in advance to minimize the inconvenience.
