This weekend, construction crews will be carrying out important track work that will have impacts on the Lakeshore East and Stouffville corridors this coming weekend.

On Saturday, Aug. 14, and Sunday, Aug. 15, there will be no GO train service on the Stouffville line. Instead, GO bus service will run between Lincolnville and Unionville and then travel express to Union Station Bus Terminal. That means if you normally take the GO train from Agincourt, Milliken, or Kennedy GO you will need to use the TTC to complete your journey.

There will also be impacts to Lakeshore East train service as there will be no train service between Danforth GO and Union Station.

Metrolinx says GO customers should use the TTC to get between these two stations during construction. The transit agency says customers heading to the TFC game or the Arkells concert downtown should give themselves extra time.

The TTC Main Street Station is located a short walk north from Danforth GO on the north east side of Main Street just north of Danforth Avenue. There is plenty of signage at Danforth GO to help customers find their way.

Lakeshore East customers will also have the option of GO bus service that will depart from Pickering GO and operate express to Union Station Bus Terminal and from Union Station Bus Terminal to Pickering. Buses will depart approximately every 30 minutes throughout both days.

This work is part of GO Transit’s signal enhancements and expansion efforts. This work will modernize some of the older signals and track infrastructure and help prepare for future GO train service.

These changes will also affect departure times, and GO Transit recommends customers check their schedule ahead of time. Regular Lakeshore East and Stouffville GO Train service will resume in time for Monday morning.
