RAIL CORRIDOR ACCESS & CONTROL
Rail Corridor Access and Control (RCAC) enhances safety and efficiency across Metrolinx's network. Rooted in collaboration and transparency, RCAC works closely with contractors, regulatory bodies, and communities to build positive relationships and ensure safe access across Metrolinx's rail network. The Planning team develops strategies for future expansion plans, ensuring Metrolinx can accommodate network-wide construction and evolving rail access demands as well as on day-to-day operations, coordinating access requests and optimizing each operation to minimize delays while prioritizing safety.
The Network Access Planning Standard (NAPS) defines the processes for requesting, deconflicting, and securing Rail Corridor Access and Track Protection within Metrolinx-owned territory. It ensures safe work execution across Metrolinx Rail Corridors, guided by principles that prioritize safety, productivity during track closures and work events, the best decisions for industry and customers, and the standardization of the Rail Corridor Access planning process.
