UNIVERSAL DESIGN STANDARD

The Universa Design Standard, DS-02, consists of key Universal Design requirements for transit infrastructure to design new and existing stations and terminals, stops and customer-facing facilities. Overall, the DS-02 goes above and beyond the minimum Provincial legislated requirements, representing a “best practice” approach providing Universal Design for customers across GO Bus, Subway, Heavy and Light Rail Transit, and Bus Rapid Transit. The main purpose of DS-02 is to bring consistency to the user experience, maximize independent access and increase safety for customers with disabilities.
