Future OL Queen Station - hero image

Ontario Line

A new 15.6-km subway line in Toronto that will run from Exhibition Place, through downtown, all the way to the Eglinton Crosstown LRT at Don Mills Road.

Metrolinx property requirements for the Ontario Line at 1 and 2 Thorncliffe Park Dr.

The properties located at 1 and 2 Thorncliffe Park Dr. are needed to construct the Ontario Line’s operations, maintenance, and storage facility (OMSF). All units at these addresses will be vacated during the month of April 2024, before construction is scheduled to start.

The OMSF – a critical part of any transit operation – will be built on a 175,000-square-metre site, which includes the lands at 1 and 2 Thorncliffe Park Dr. Ontario Line trains will be tested, housed and maintained at the OMSF.

The Ontario Line will bring 15.6 kilometres of much-needed rapid transit to Toronto to make moving around the city better, faster and easier than it is today. A new station located at Thorncliffe Park Drive will bring rapid transit to a community that has been historically underserved by transit, and the nearby OMSF will play a critical role in supporting this and all other stations across the Ontario Line. In this community, the Thorncliffe Park Station will put 12,800 people within a 10-minute walk of rapid transit.

More information on the OMSF site – including how it was selected – can be found on our project website at Metrolinx.com/ThorncliffePark.

If you have questions about the project, please contact us directly at 416-202-5100 or via email at ontarioline@metrolinx.com.
