Extra GO Transit service to get fans home from events this month

Live sports and concerts are back, and GO Transit is here to get you home safely.

Mar 16, 2022

To help get fans home from select events this month, Metrolinx is adding a few special trains to the Lakeshore East and West Lines.

These extra trains will be added following concerts at Scotiabank Arena as well as Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors, and Toronto FC home games this month.

The trip times will depend on when the games and concerts end.

GO Transit’s network operation centre monitors these events closely to time extra service with when most people will be heading for their trains home.

There will also be extra service for the Mar. 27 World Cup Qualifier between Canada and Jamaica at BMO Field in Toronto.

These extra trains are on top of scheduled service and will help get fans home safely by reducing crowding on platforms.

These trips will not be reflected on the GO website or on Triplinx to ensure flexibility for train departure times. The departure times for these special trips will be announced on the line specific Twitter handles and via On the GO Alerts.

Fans are encouraged to plan ahead and leave extra time for travel when attending busy events.

Masks are still mandatory on all GO buses, trains, and in stations. Read more about Metrolinx’s COVID safety measures here.
