Hurontario LRT project progresses at Port Credit GO Station
Construction is underway, and Metrolinx News is zooming in on the work at Port Credit GO Station.

Pouring concrete is one of those things that can be tricky in the cold.
Right now, construction crews are working several metres below street level at Port Credit GO Station in Mississauga, the future site of the southern end of the Hurontario light rail transit (LRT) route.
The red pumps in the photo below are used to cure concrete in the unpredictable March weather. The orange tarps are also there to help keep things warm.

When it’s done, the Hurontario light rail transit (LRT) project will connect riders to major transit systems including GO Transit (Milton and Lakeshore West Lines), the Mississauga Transitway, Brampton Transit, ZUM, and MiWay.
The Hurontario LRT trains will also run along their own dedicated lane ensuring a reliable and convenient ride along the region’s busiest street.
Sticking with the Port Credit theme – construction is also in full swing in the nearby Mary Fix Creek.
Workers are expanding and revitalizing the creek bed as part of the project. The creek provides flood protection and prevents erosion in the Port Credit area.
When they’re done, workers will then replant more trees in order to enhance local biodiversity, as part of Metrolinx’s landscape plan.
