Aug 11, 2023
Metrolinx and SCOOTY Mobility are partnering to test out a new travel option for customers at select GO stations in Brampton.
Starting today (Aug. 11), Mount Pleasant, Brampton and Bramalea GO Stations will be home to SCOOTY e-scooter rentals, providing customers with a new environmentally friendly option to connect to the GO network. The e-scooter pilot program will operate until Dec. 31, 2024.
As part of the vision for GO Rail Station Access, Metrolinx continues to explore new ways to connect customers and residents to GO stations, making it as easy as possible for them to access transit.
SCOOTY Mobility is a GTA-based company that provides affordable access to electric scooters, with parking hubs located throughout Brampton.
As part of the Province of Ontario’s five-year e-scooter pilot program, the City of Brampton has approved e-scooters for personal use, allowing for the selected GO stations to offer SCOOTY e-scooter rentals.
Renting a SCOOTY e-scooter
Customers must download the SCOOTY mobile app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to unlock e-scooter rentals. After creating a profile and inputting payment information, they can unlock a SCOOTY e-scooter from the parking hub located on the GO Station property and hub locations throughout the city.
Customers must follow all provincial and local laws surrounding electric mobility devices. In addition, SCOOTY rental e-scooters are not permitted to go onboard GO Transit vehicles or enter station buildings or platform areas at any time.
