We are working to make sure that everyone can use transit with ease. Starting October 29, customers can access six new step-by-step guides on the MagnusCards app, a free digital life skills library which can help youth, neurodiverse individuals, newcomers to Canada, as well as people with all abilities perform everyday activities. The six new guides are designed to help people travel safely and confidently on GO Transit and UP Express, and offer riders support using PRESTO. These new guides are in addition to the 22 Metrolinx MagnusCards introduced in December 2023.

What’s new?

We are currently in the second year of our partnership with Magnusmode, the creator of MagnusCards. The six new digital guides, called “Card Decks,” explore new topics such as safety, checking schedules and trip planning, boarding the UP Express, how to use One Fare and how to add a physical PRESTO card to Mobile Wallet. We have also translated the decks to include four new languages.

Helping more people

With simple instructions, visuals, and audio, the how-to guides are available in six languages: English, French, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Hindi, and Punjabi. This will improve accessibility for more customers and help them navigate Metrolinx services.

Whether it’s someone’s first time using the system, or they simply require a little extra help, the new MagnusCards guides help take the guesswork out of the customer experience by showing them exactly what to do. The step-by-step instruction in the digital cards empowers riders to explore the region confidently and independently, making transit a safer and more inclusive experience.

How to use MagnusCards

MagnusCards is a free app available to download from the Google Play and Apple App stores. In the app, users can search for GO Transit, UP Express, PRESTO and Metrolinx Card Decks under the travel category.
