Ask away during Metrolinx Town Hall in Durham Region

Our town hall event comes to Durham Region this week, giving customers the chance to ask questions.

Apr 30, 2019

We know you’re wondering about it. So just go ahead and ask.

As Ontario’s largest public transit agency, we have a lot of wheels turning – from GO Transit expansion across the Greater Golden Horseshoe region to ongoing light rail construction projects, as well as managing UP Express trips and making sure your PRESTO fare card works properly when you tap it.

All that work impacts a lot of customers on, often, a daily basis. So naturally, as we look to improve, build and increase our services, we always ask for your input.

While you give us that feedback on social media, and even in letters still mailed in, one of the most popular invitation to a conversation has been our Metrolinx Town Halls – previously called ‘Ask Metrolinx’. The community event series are where Metrolinx CEO Phil Verster, and his senior management team, sit for a town hall in a rolling calendar of locations.

The next one takes place in Whitby, on May 2nd.  Held at the Abilities Centre, 55 Gordon Street, the event starts at 7pm. We’ll supply the chairs and ourselves – you bring your questions.

If it’s on your mind, then this is a time and place to ask.

If you can’t make it in person, you can participate online by going to Metrolinx Engage and watching the livestream. If that doesn’t work, you can also submit questions in advance on Metrolinx Engage for Phil and his team to answer.

How do our previous town halls add up?

7 – The number of events so far
400 – The number of in-person participants
805 – The questions answered so far
400 – The number of online viewers to date
3500 – The votes for the top questions
1 – The most interesting question is the one you have the chance to ask next.
