Buses to replace Barrie Line GO Trains this weekend

Maintenance happening between Bradford & Downsview Park GO.

Mar 22, 2023

There will be no GO Train service on the Barrie Line on Saturday, March 25 and Sunday, March 26. Buses will replace train service over the weekend.

Replacement buses will provide weekend service between Union Station Bus Terminal, Rutherford, Maple, King City, Aurora, Newmarket and East Gwillimbury GO Stations.

Some trips will run express to and from Aurora GO, so be sure to check schedules before you travel.

These buses will not serve Downsview Park GO, which can be reached by TTC and YRT.

a GO train.

This is part of the GO Expansion program which will lead to more frequent, two-way, all-day train service on the Barrie Line in the future.

Important Barrie Line track work

Between Bradford GO and Downsview Park GO, track construction and maintenance will be performed to ensure the safe and reliable operation of GO Train service.

This is a great example of how Metrolinx plans weekend construction schedules at multiple locations on the same line to minimize the number of interruptions.

Riders are always encouraged to use gotransit.com or triplinx.ca to plan trips and check the Metrolinx Service Updates page for real-time details.

**Editor's Note: This story was updated on March 22, to relfect changes to the scope of work planned this coming weekend (March 25-26).
