GO and UP Express service increases now in effect

UP Express service returns to 15-min frequency & Lakeshore West weekday evening service ramps up.

Feb 28, 2023

Service has increased for UP Express and some GO Transit customers, effective Feb. 21.

Metrolinx has reintroduced 15-minute UP Express service, seven days a week.

For GO Transit riders on the Lakeshore West Line, 30-minute weekday evening service has returned.

More service on UP Express

Increased UP Express service provides more flexibility for customers.

Metrolinx is now able to offer more options during the day with the first and last trip times remaining the same.

A consistent 15-minute service frequency means customers can show up and go.

Weekday evening 30-minute service returns on Lakeshore West

Weekday evening 30-minute service between Union Station and Aldershot GO has also returned for customers riding after 9 p.m.

That means two trains per hour – good news for people heading home after sporting events, concerts and more.

Schedules have been adjusted to provide more consistent departure times and to allow some trains to make longer scheduled stops at Exhibition and Oakville GO Stations.

There are also some schedule adjustments for Lakeshore East customers, so be sure to check schedules to make sure you get to your platform on time.

Text for help cover

Safety is key

Metrolinx recently launched a new text-for-help support program to give customers one more safety option on GO Transit and UP Express.

People can report immediate safety or security concerns by texting “HELP” to 77777.

Metrolinx’s Customer Protective Services team will reply to the text within 90 seconds and will converse with the person to understand the concern. If needed, the team can assist by dispatching support or local police services.
