Recently, Metrolinx announced a trial of a ‘Sunday Funday’ program allowing GO Transit customers unlimited travel options for $10 – whether they’re looking to travel one-way, round trip or multiple trips on a Sunday – would be extended into the spring. That new phase launches this weekend (March 1).

So as a bit of a nod to all the travel possibilities – even as winter lashed out at us this week – here is a handy list of 10 things to discover across a ‘Sunday Funday’.

10: Brunch at 

The rise of brunch has made it the best meal of choice in Toronto – especially on a Sunday. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., enjoy brunch at this French restaurant right in the heart of King West. Best of all, they have a Sunday service disco brunch that happens monthly and turns into a total party.

9: Sunday Showcase at the 

Need a laugh this winter? Every Sunday comedian Dan Guiry curates a showcase filled with Canadian talent. This tiny comedy club is known for being so small, it’s funny. Head to one of two performances, at 9 p.m. or 11 p.m.

8: Work-out at 

Our service is dog-friendly and so is this brewery, that offers unique events on Sundays, alongside their regular brewing hours. Coming up next on March 1st is their ‘Raag Indian Cuisine Pop Up’ and March 15th check out ’St. Pawtricks Day’ for some vegan junk food at this bring your own dog event. Remember to buy your tickets in advance to secure your spot.

7: Sunday Service at 

This might not be Kanye’s Sunday Service but the Cathedral Church of St. James offers five services each Sunday. And each service is a little different from the other, to best serve your worshiping needs. Head to the home of the oldest congregation in Toronto, established back in 1797.

Who doesn’t like a little theatre in the afternoon? Catch a 2 p.m. show on Sundays with Mirvish. On stage now, Hamilton at Ed Mirvish Theatre, Come From Away at Royal Alexandra Theatre and more.

5. St. Lawrence Market – Historically, the main building of the market might be closed on Sundays, but starting March 15th they’ll be open for business. Head inside, open on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., to find the next meal idea, fresh produce or meats.

4. Live Music at 

Jam out to some bluegrass and old time music at this bluegrass brunch, every Sunday at Dakota Tavern. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. you can rock out, while eating a delicious meal. Best of all, kids 12 and under ride free on GO and get free admissions at the tavern.

3. Skating at the 

With Lake Ontario in front of you and the city skyline behind, this free skating rink is the perfect spot to spend your Sunday. DJ Skate Night on Saturdays might be their premiere event, but during the day on Sundays it’s less busy for you to really skate around. Locals tip: when the Zamboni comes out, head to Boxcar Social for a coffee to warm up next to the rink.

2. Roast Dinner at 

Enjoy this mouth-watering tradition of Sunday Prime Rib Roast at House on Parliament restaurant in Cabbagetown. Gather your friends and family for a meal together, starting at 5 p.m. until close.

Check out the recently renovated Real Sports to cheer on your favourite team. Reserve your table at Real Sports for prime seating at game time. Watch the NBA champions this weekend as the Toronto Raptors take on the Denver Nuggets this Sunday, March 1st.
