Nov 3, 2022

Barrie GO Expansion is already underway and will allow for a second set of tracks during future construction.

This project covers Barrie GO Line improvements between King Street West to the south and just north of Finch Avenue West.  The virtual open house presentation will focus on zone 2 (approximately from Davenport Road to St. Clair Avenue West) and zone 7 (approximately from Sheppard Avenue West to Finch Avenue West)

From Nov. 16 to 30, residents can participate in a virtual open house to review information and submit questions.

Community members can participate by registering at Metrolinx Engage.

Barrie GO Expansion

This preparatory work will allow for the addition of a second future track to support more frequent, all-day train service in both directions.

Expansion on the Barrie GO Line includes creating easy, nearby connections to destinations in the City of Toronto, including to the future Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit route via Caledonia GO Station and TTC’s Line 2 via the future SmartTrack Bloor-Lansdowne GO Station, both new station projects currently in development.

These investments are critical to transform the GO rail network into a comprehensive, two-way all-day rapid transit network.
