Metrolinx welcoming new Canadians at annual Toronto Newcomer Day
Metrolinx is working to deliver a more integrated & inclusive transit network.
May 18, 2022
Newcomers are a vital part of how the region is growing and thriving.
That’s why Metrolinx is working to ensure everyone can travel to work, school and explore the Greater Toronto and Hamilton area easily and affordably on public transit.
People visiting the Toronto Newcomer Day Information Fair can check out the Metrolinx booth featuring a digital installation of the Metrolinx transit network map.
This map allows attendees to see how transit can easily connect them to the things that matter most – such as hospitals, Service Ontario locations and immigration centres, plus getaways, attractions and tourist destinations.
Visitors can also learn about the perks of having a PRESTO card, which includes the best transit fares and discounts on lots of attractions. Gain familiarity with GO Transit’s network of regional public transit services, and learn how to visit or pick up loved ones by taking the UP Express to Pearson Airport.
Metrolinx staff will be on-site with giveaways, including informational brochures, possibilities passports and more.
