Just in time for spring, Metrolinx is helping more cyclists connecting to GO by offering a new place to park their bikes.

Customers can now register for a spot in one of the new reserved bike rooms at Whitby, Stouffville, Weston, Burlington, Scarborough, Guildwood, Streetsville, and West Harbour GO stations.

Customers at Centennial, Cooksville, East Gwillimbury, Hamilton, Pickering and Rutherford GO stations also have access to reserved bike rooms and can continue to use this service.

The initiative is part of Metrolinx’s goal to increase station access for customers with a variety of travel preferences – so, those who live too far to walk and don’t want to drive now have another option. By giving customers a variety of options to get to and from GO stations, Metrolinx has put a focus on reducing congestion, encouraging transit use, and helping promote active transportation.

The reserved bike parking rooms provide customers with the peace of mind that comes with knowing that their bike is in a reserved access room providing enhanced security, while protected from the elements too.

Metrolinx encourages all customers to always lock up their bikes whenever parking at a GO station.

Reserving a spot

The spots in each bike room are by reservation only.

Each spot costs $50 (price includes HST) for a one-year reservation. Customers can apply to reserve a spot here and once successfully registered will receive a code that they can use to access the bike parking room.

Reserved bike room registration forms must be submitted no later than the 15th of each month to gain access on the 1st of the next month.Check out the GO website for more information about reserving a spot – and be sure to check Metrolinx News for any more updates.
