Think of this as a roadmap for navigating GO train construction work in October.
While GO remains ready to move people across the region, whether it’s to a Toronto FC game, the return of the Raptors, or visiting friends, there’s some important information to keep in mind if you’re planning on taking the Barrie, Kitchener, Stouffville, Lakeshore West Lines or the Union Pearson Express next month.
Here’s a snapshot of all the GO track construction happening during the month of October and what customers need to know to plan ahead.
Oct. 1 to 3: Barrie and Kitchener Lines
Beginning the evening of Oct. 1, construction on the Eglinton Crosstown LRT and Barrie GO Line will result in several temporary changes for Barrie and Kitchener GO train service.
On Saturday, Oct. 2 only, there will be no rail service between Union Station and Downsview Park GO. Train service will run between Downsview Park and Allandale Waterfront GO.
Also, during this time, the hourly service between Aurora and Union Station will be replaced by GO bus service. Replacement buses will depart earlier/later than train times. Bus service will not stop at Downsview Park GO, customers should use TTC services to get to and from Union Station.
Some Kitchener and Barrie Line trains will also leave at slightly different times, so it’s important to check the schedules before heading out.
