(Dec 11. 1:15 p.m.) – The GO Transit website is back online and all functionality is now restored.
The site has been updated to protect it from this latest cyber-vulnerability regarding web-based services around the globe.
Most importantly, no customer, personal or financial files were compromised.
Metrolinx thanks customers for their patience over the past 17 hours.

Earlier today, Metrolinx was informed by the Government of Canada about an ongoing cyber vulnerability regarding web-based services around the globe.
As an organization, we immediately took proactive steps and began methodically searching our systems to ensure our customers and services are secure and protected.
Out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to proactively take down the GO Transit website until we learn more about this vulnerability.
It’s important to note, at no time do we believe that any Metrolinx websites or assets were exploited or compromised. All customer, personal and financial data systems remain secure (including, PRESTO) – and the safety and integrity of our transit network remains intact.
We have strong protections, testing, and monitoring in place – which is why we’re taking the proactive and precautionary step. We are continuing to monitor this incident.
What this means for customers is that some of our services such as e-tickets, trip planning, are not in their usual places.
Triplinx is available for fare information and trip planning. The contact centre is open 9am-5pm this weekend. The GO Transit customer contact centre also remains available to answer questions and provide information to customers, they can be reached at 416-869-3200.
E-tickets can also still be purchased at: tickets.gotransit.com
Customers are also encouraged follow the GO Transit line handles on Twitter and check their emails for On-The-GO-Alerts.
Also, Metrolinx News will have the latest schedules and updates regarding this weekend’s Lakeshore East service changes – and additional information for customers heading to Hamilton for this weekend’s 108th Grey Cup.
We promise to continue to update our customers as we get more information.
