It’s time to get some credit.

The TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) and PRESTO are encouraging eligible TTC customers who haven’t yet added their pro-rated monthly pass credits for March and April to add it to their PRESTO card  as soon as possible.

With pandemic restrictions in place, many customers that purchased a TTC monthly pass for the month of March and also April were unable to travel on their regular routes go to work, and see family members as they normally would. The TTC has worked with PRESTO to credit customers for the unused portions of their March and April TTC monthly passes.

On August 21, 2020, PRESTO began making the pro-rated credits available. So far, over 70 per cent of customers have tapped their PRESTO Card to receive their credits.

For those who haven’t, it’s important to note that these pro-rated credits won’t be available forever. The credits will expire by the end of November, so add it to your card as soon as possible.

Who is eligible for the pro-rated credit?

The pro-rated credit is available to customers who purchased a TTC monthly pass for the months of March and April and did not travel on the TTC at all, or didn’t travel some days between March 18-31 and April 1-30. The credit covers the days that a customer did not use their pass in March or April. It’s important to note, the pro-rated credits are only available through your PRESTO card.

Here are some ways you can receive your pro-rated credit:

PRESTO understands that many customers haven’t fully returned to the TTC, and so haven’t received their refund yet. But there are several ways to receive your credit:

• If you’re taking transit, simply tap your card on a PRESTO reader as you normally would. You will be charged your normal fare and the credit will be added to your card;
• Check your balance using a Self-Serve Reload Machine or Fare Vending Machine located at all subway stations; or
• Visit a Shoppers Drug Mart location or the TTC’s Customer Service Centre (above Davisville Station) to load your card or check your balance.

What can I use the pro-rated credit for?

You can use your pro-rated credit to pay your fare as you go.

For those customers who would like to purchase a new monthly pass, you can put your pro-rated credit towards the cost.

However, if you are using the credit to buy a monthly pass, you must buy it at a Shoppers Drug Mart location.
